Synthetic substrates borosilicate glass flake based pigments are transparent and highly planar in addition to having a controlled platelet thickness. The composition is tightly controlled to ensure no impurities resulting in a neutral mass tone. These attributes result in a more intense sparkling effect with our metal oxide coated Moonshine® effect, ultra effect and colour travel series.

Our range of Moonshine® effect series products is produced using wet chemistry coating processes depositing coatings of either metal oxides or metal on to a glass flake substrate depending on the effect desired. Metal oxides are deposited as thin films by a precipitation coating process the thickness of the film applied determines the interference colour achieved. Moonshine® meta effect series are produced using electroless deposition technology.
